September 3 -12, 2015
Please join us for the Opening Reception Thurs. Sept. 3, 6pm-8pm
This joint show by renowned local photographers includes landscape images of outstanding beauty, as well as travel and portraiture.
Alan McCord focuses on portraits from the water’s edge, where Canada’s huge landmass meets the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans. “They are an integral portion of the Canadian mosaic.” says McCord. “The most captivating sights within a geographic area are to be found where one environmental community meets another – in this case, where water meets land. These edge communities embody a mix of environmental cooperation, confrontation and symbiosis.”
Caledon photographer Nathan Hiller’s work includes landscapes, travel and portraits. His work has been widely exhibited in juried shows (including Red Door Gallery’s 2015 juried show where his work “Caddy” won 2D Juror’s Award). Over twenty years Hiller has produced “Caledon Collection” – a series of photographs of Caledon and the surrounding area. In this show he adds portraiture to the mix. He portrays women outside traditional studio settings and artificial lighting, preferring instead to use outdoor locations, unusual spaces and in an aura created through dance.
All work is for sale. Prices range from $100-350.
