Immense Ontario Landscapes by Ale Groen
January 24-February 4, 2017

We are delighted to partner with The Side Door Gallery on Mill Street to show larger scale works in a series by Ale Groen.  Large works, reaching 8ftx4ft fill the walls, at once rich with an impasto technique, then scratched away with the opposite end of the brush.  Each painting captures the rugged nature of Ontario’s landscape and  infuses it with a raw emotion.

Ale says of his work: ” Living in time is always dynamic. My work explores different forms of identities, objects and landscapes . Each series questions the problem of knowing and what does a new knowing look like in real time and space. The ability the know something parallels our ability to create a form of our knowing.”

Ale studied Bachelor of Fine Art at York University and Masters of Fine Art (MFA) Syracuse University.  He has exhibited his work widely in Canada and the USA.  http://www.alegroenart.com
